Antonio Silva, also known as “BigFoot,” isn’t done with fighting just yet.

The 42-year-old will fight under kickboxing rules at Mix Fighting Championship on September 10. He will face Zabit Samedov in Azerbaijan.

Silva, a former UFC fighter, graced the octagon from 2012 until 2016.

In the UFC, he earned three victories, suffered seven losses, and fought to one draw. After the UFC, he suffered four more losses, including the most recent in 2022 against Oleg Popov.

Even though he had many losses, he is considered among the greats, defeating Bellator star Fedor Emelianenko in his prime. This was back in 2011 when Emelianenko’s record was 31-2-0. He also defeated former UFC heavyweight champion, Andrei Arlovski, back in 2010 and beat Alistar Overeem in his prime in 2011, after Overeem defeated Brock Lesnar in his UFC debut.

Samedov is a renowned kickboxing world champion who has gone nine years without dropping a fight. The 38-year-old has won his previous three kickboxing fights by TKO or KO, bringing his total to 38.

Fans have pleaded with Silva to retire, but he is not responding. Instead, he is committed to carrying on and searching for the victory that has evaded him for nine years.
